Activities of the I.A.J. four Study Commissions – Latest News

On 6th, 7th and 8th October 2015, in Barcelona, the I.A.J. Study Commissions discussed the following subjects: “The relationship between effective management of the courts and the delivery of justice by independent judges” (1^st Study Commission); “Expert evidence” (2^nd Study Commission); “Juvenile Justice” (3^rd Study Commission); “Reasons for dismissal of workers” (4^th Study Commission).

National reports are available in our web site (https://www.iaj-uim.org/study-commissions/): just click on the relevant year (2015) and topic. The Secretariat-General is in the process of publishing such Reports also in the public part of our site (all of them are already available in the private area).

Conclusions adopted in Barcelona are in the process of being distributed among National Associations and published in the above mentioned web page (just click on the word “conclusions”, for each and any Study Commission). Already available are the conclusions of the 2nd, 3rd and 4th SC.

The following subjects will be discussed by the Study Commissions in 2016: 1^st SC: “Best practices within the judicial system for ensuring transparency and integrity and preventing corruption”; 2^nd SC: “Class actions”; 3^rd SC: “The Sentencing of Criminal Offenders”; 4^th SC: “Social networks and labour relations”.

In Barcelona I.A.J.
