Message of Condolences and Solidarity to Egyptian Prosecutors and Judges for the murder of Egypt’s Attorney General, Mr. Hisham Barakat

The IAJ’s President and Secretary-General sent the following message to the Egyptian Club of Judges, Member Association of the IAJ:

Dear Colleagues,

The International  Association of Judges (IAJ) expresses its condolences and solidarity to Egyptian Prosecutors and Judges for the murder of Egypt’s Attorney General, Mr. Hisham Barakat.

The IAJ condemns any aggression to the safety of judges in the performance of their judicial duties and commits itself to take all possible initiatives and measures which could contribute to make aware the public opinion and the public institutions about these terrible facts.

We ask our Colleagues of the Egyptian Judges Club to extend to the Egyptian Prosecutors and to the whole Egyptian legal community our feelings of deep sorrow in this diffult moment.
