Declaration of IBA Group

On 24^th January 2022, the Iberico American Group of the IAJ released a Declaration (in Spanish) in support of Guatemalan judge Erika Aifán, in response to the Public Prosecutor’s request to report her for abuse of authority. This internationally recognised judge has been a constant victim of persecution and intimidation in her country, through disciplinary and even criminal proceedings, because of her independence in prosecuting corruption cases.
