Next IAJ annual meeting in Baku – exhibition: “Judge Robes and Other Symbols of the Judiciary from Around the World”

News of the IAJ

During the 67th Annual Meeting of the International Association of Judges to be held in Baku, an exhibition titled “Judge Robes and Other Symbols of the Judiciary from Around the World” will be held in the atrium of the Supreme Court Building.

This exhibition, which will showcase the diversity and identity of judicial systems across the globe, is intended to become a unique and unprecedented initiative in the world. A wide and representative collection of judge robes from IAJ member countries, highlighting the rich traditions, cultural distinctions, and the symbolic value of judicial attire will be displayed.

All delegations are invited to consider bringing a robe representative of their judiciary to contribute to the exhibition. Depending on the preferences of the delegates, the robes may be purchased by them, accepted as a gift, or temporarily used for the exhibition with the owner’s permission.

The Azeri colleagues are currently working on completing and organizing the judge robes they already have into a unified exhibition. Furthermore, they envision turning this initiative into a permanent and evolving tradition by presenting the exhibition at future IAJ annual meetings.

Your participation in this unique initiative is more than welcome!

For those delegations willing to support them by contributing your country’s judge robes, please kindly contact Mr. Ramin Isgandarov.
