UN Survey on cases of “disguised” disciplinary actions against judges
News of the IAJ
The IAJ has been requested by the UN Special Rapporteur on the independence of judges and lawyers, Prof. Diego García-Sayán, to contribute with its experience to a survey of his Office, aiming at studying the issue of “disguised” disciplinary actions or procedures against judges in different Countries.
The questionnaire, in English, French and Spanish, has been spread today to all the IAJ members.
The initiative is aimed at helping Judiciaries worldwide to continue their fight for judicial independence, that is more and more under pressure, also as a side-effect of the measures adopted for fighting the COVID-19 pandemic.
The deadline to fill it is May 4th.
