International Fair Trial Day

Some weeks ago a number of international bar associations and lawyers´ organisations established an annual International Fair Trial Day, which should be organised every year on June 14th.

This year, the inaugural International Fair Trial Day (IFTD) is being observed for the first time worldwide today (14 June), with a focus on Turkey.

The well known unsatisfying situation of the Turkish justice system forms the core of the activities among which is the publishing and distribution of the attached statement. Being the content of this statement fully in line with the position of EAJ, its presidency therefore decided that EAJ endorsed this statement and invited the member associations of EAJ to considerer the same position.
