CoNGO Statement “COVID-19 Recovery: Building Back Better”

The IAJ received a request of endorsement to the statement entitled “COVID-19 Recovery: Building Back Better”, by the President of CoNGO (Conference of NGOs in Consultative Relationship with the United Nations).

The Presidency Committee of the IAJ notes that the declaration goes further than the IAJ Universal Charter and that there was not enough time to consult sufficiently IAJ members to ensure that there was no serious objection to the endorsement.

Nevertheless, it is noteworthy that many non-government organisations connected with the United Nations make a declaration in favour of promoting the Rule of Law and, fort his reason, the Presidency Committee authorized the publication of the document on the IAJ website.
