President of the EU Parliament Mr Schulz’s letter on Turkey

The President of the EU Parliament Mr Schulz has replied to a letter sent by EAJ’s President Mr Régnard. In this document Mr Schulz ensures that the European Parliament follows closely the developments of the situation on the independence of Turkish judiciary. He openly encouraged as well EAJ to keep him and EU Parliament bodies informed on the situation, underlying that the principle of separation of powers is a fundamental requirement for EU accession.
