On March 27th, a letter was addressed to the attention of the Secretary General of UN, Mr. Guterres and in copy to the UN Special Rapporteur on the independence of judges and lawyers, Prof. Margaret Satterthwaite.
The aim of the letter was to propose to name January 11th “International Day of Judicial Independence – 1000 Robes March” .
It was signed by the President of the IAJ, Mr. Igreja Matos; the Secretary-General of the IAJ, Mr Oberto; the President of the EAJ, Mr. Sessa; the President of the IBA, Mr. Barone;the President of the ANAO, Ms Duncan and the President of the AFR, Ms Kouassi.
